Fate

Smiling radiantly to all of those that were present at the ceremonious occasion, Faith Tyler walked down the petal-sprinkled aisle, her arm linked with her father. The music that flowed from the organ played the classic wedding march from "Midsummers Night Dream". Looking in front of the chapel, she saw her soon-to-be husband who was smiling also, watching her with his eyes as she walked gracefully. When she approached Richard Thomas, he reached out for her hand, holding them with both of his hands, and lifting them up to his lips to plant them a soft kiss.

"You look beautiful," he whispered, causing her to smile, and her cheeks to rise up.

"Thank you," she mouthed the words, not having the strength to fully whisper them back, fearing she would choke out her words.

"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today, to join..." the minister started her long speech, introducing both families to the two individuals who were soon to be wed. The whole crowd, which filled up not only the first set of seats on the first level, but also the second set, watched the scene. There was a video camera on the second level, capturing all of the moments that were happening before it. There were a few babies in the audience, only one who had the nerve to cry, and was soon taken out of the room by their mother who carried him out in her arms. There were two ushers by the door on the left of the chapel and on the door of the right. The bridesmaid stood by Faith’s side and the groomsmen by Richard’s side.

The flower girls were standing in front of their mothers, the empty basket still in their hands. They were smiling, their teeth perfect, and their dresses in a frilly style. They both wore white cotton gloves, their stockings white, and their shoes the color of sand. The ring bearer was a little boy at the age of four. He was standing in front of his father, who happened to be the best man. The cushion that the rings were on was a clean white, with a pink lace along the edges of it. The little boy was wearing a carnation in his pocket, and he continuously picked at it, feeling uncomfortable wearing a flower on his tuxedo.

"Daddy, it won’t come off," he pulled on his father’s pants, hoping to get his attention. He looked down, and gave his son the eye, letting him know that the time wasn’t right for him to complain.

"But daddy," he whined, pulling on them once more.

"Jacob, not now," his father said, placing both his hands on his son’s shoulder, and looking at his best friend, the groom. Jacob only pouted, and continued staring at everyone in the room. A child his age, cannot stay still for a long time, especially staying in just one spot.

*|*

After a long three hours, the wedding was finally over, Faith and Richard saying their last vows, "in sickness and in health…I do…I do…" The family and guests stayed in their chair, watching them as they joined hands and walked around the room, in the aisles, stopping to give each other a kiss, as the crowd requested. When they circled the room and came back towards the front of the chapel, everyone got out of their seats and formed a line. This line was extensively long, going out of the doors, and in the chapel hallway.

The ushers continued to do their job, maintaining order and aid in the room. When they noticed that someone was missing their pamphlet containing information about the wedding, they would come to their side, and supply them with one. They would also give them a card that contained praises to the new husband and wife, a silver bell being centered in the card, a tiny ribbon keeping the bell in its place. The father of the bride was on the left side of Faith, shaking hands with the guests who arrived, and giving hugs to his family. The best man was on the right side of Richard, giving him a manly hug, telling him that he always knew this moment would come.

"Do you know how long I’ve waited for ya’ll two to get married Rick? Ever since we were eighteen man, and you seen her sitting in the library. I still think it’s fate that sprung you two together," he told him.

"Yea. I mean, if it wasn’t for my uncle’s death, I still would be out there, acting like someone I wasn’t," he told him, his voice being low so that no one else could hear him.

"Amen to that. You gotta make sure that you thank the Lord for uniting the two of you together. Trust me, if you won’t then I most certainly will," he told Richard, his voice serious.

"No need Joe. You know I will," Richard said, his voice still low.

*|*

Everyone waited until the bride and groom walked out of the room, kissing one last time in front of the doorway, sealing their marriage, until they walked out themselves. Everyone was told to be at a specific location, at the same time, and those that were late, were not given the chance to come into the reception, unless they were family. Richard and Faith got inside of the white limo, all of the family members following behind them, and a few guests. When they arrived at the reception, they were quickly told to be seated, so that the reception could start. A star dj was placed in the corner, to keep the reception alive.

"Alright ya’ll, take ya seats, take ya seats. We gotta get this thing started! They got this placed booked until three in the morning. So ya’ll know Richard and Faith got that mon-ay! So, why don’t we go ahead and start this thang up?" he asked, his mic in front of his lips, and his turn tables powered on. The little kids were laughing at how he was talking, and the adults shook their heads, and turned their attention to the entrance, waiting until the bride and groom came out. The sculptured doors were closed, and everyone waited until they opened, but they never did.

"Um...Richard and Faith! Get ya’ll butts out here so we can start this thang," the dj announced, with his eyebrows raised, waiting for them. Everyone’s head were looking in the direction of the door, waiting to see if the bride and groom would come out.

That’s when everyone heard it. A scream burst out, and the doors bust open, a power so strung it could have struck someone dead. People held their breath, some shrieked, others got out of their seats and ran, but there was no where to run to.

"What in the world...?" the dj’s voice trailed off, as he squinted his eyes, and saw a terrifying sight happening in front of him.

"Everybody get out of here! There’s..." he could never finish his sentence, because a dagger sliced through the air, coming in contact with his forehead, and instantly claimed him dead. Everyone in the room screamed, cried, and panicked, knowing that they were trapped. There were no exits, and no places to hide. All they could do was wait in that room until their lives got taken away.

The windows in the room all shut closed, simultaneously, and metal bars dropped down. Everyone knew they were going to die. Nothing could be stopped about it. Time couldn’t be changed and events could not have been stopped to lead up to this predicament. The mothers clenched fearfully to their young, praying to God that the evil lurking in the reception wouldn’t claim their child’s life. Unfortunately, nothing could be stopped as the men ran into the room, killing every soul and heart in that reception room.

The bridesmaids, groom, ushers, flower girls, and the groomsmen were only some of the people whose throats were slashed open, their blood draining from their bodies, giving them a pale color. Little Jacob, the ring bearer, whose birthday was coming up in the next week, and Faith’s father were both tortured then killed, their bodies being toyed with. Joe, the best man, and the maid of honor, Faith’s little sister Serenity were both knocked unconscious.

The reception was a complete mess, blood everywhere, staining the beige carpet. Corpses lay on the floors, on the tables, and some lying on top of others. The smell of death mixed with blood was in the air. These people loved it. The smell being just like perfume to them, sweet, and lustful. Organs and entrails were scattered throughout the room. The lungs, kidneys, and intestines were removed from most of the bodies.

"Ah, yes, the humans have all perished. Their blood decorating this grand room like wallpaper. Their bodies’ furniture. Saber, what makes of us now? Do we continue to hide?" Peyur asked his creator, his nails digging into the flesh of one of the flower girls. He lifted her tiny hand up, which was dislocated from her body, and popped it into his mouth. The sound of bone cracking filled the air.

"I do not wish to hide anymore. We’re coming out. We must kill every human on this earth, populating more of us in the process. We shall conquer this planet and have ultimate power. We’re going to come out of the dark and come into the light," he replied.

"Where shall we live? In the sewers like we always do master? Living among the humans own bodily extracts? Or do we live among the streets? Walking upon them as if they were our own?"

"Live in the sewers? Live in the sewers?!" Saber’s voice became louder with every word that came out of his inhumanly mouth. His eyes began to glow a bright brown color and he brought his arm out, with the speed of a bullet, unnoticeable, and clamped Peyur’s neck with his hand.

"Live in the sewers! Do you think I can stand living in those sewers another day? The cramped space, rotting smell, moist conditions," Saber shouted, as his men watched him slam Peyur against the wall, his feet inches in the air.

"B-but master, I t-thought you liked t-that," Peyur said, in gasps of breath.

"Peyur, my sweet child. You are right. I do enjoy living in areas similar to that. But how can you actually believe that we were going to return to the sewers?" Saber asked him, his voice now low and calmer, sounding deadly coming from him.

"M-master, I’m s-sorry," Peyur said, his breathing now harder, and his eyes turning crimson.

"I don’t believe you Peyur. I don’t believe you," he said shaking his head from side to side while looking down, and a small smirk appearing on the corner of his lips, "Are you actually trying to morph on me? Do you actually believe you have the strength to fight me?" Saber asked, letting his throat go. He fell, holding onto his neck as he struggled for air to fill his throat. The blood in his body now circulating at its regular pace.

"No master, I’m sorry. I couldn’t control myself. It just happened. I tried to stop it from coming but..." Saber stopped him, by kicking him forcefully in the chest. The impact he sent with his foot crushing his rib cage. But this injury wasn’t a problem. No problem at all for Peyur. He received it all the time. His injury just healed itself in a matter of minutes.

"Don’t you ever try to morph on me again, or I promise, that time will be your last," Saber threatened him, his voice cold.

"Yes master," Peyur said with a tremor in his voice. His legs couldn’t stop shaking. He grabbed it with his right hand, and waited until Saber moved from in front of him to get up.

"Torc, grab the girl and the guy. We’re out of here," Saber demanded him to do.

"Yes master," Torc said, as he took one giant leap and landed next to Serenity, grabbing her unconscious body and throwing it over his shoulder, and doing the same with Joe.

"Peyur, close the doors behind you. We’ve killed everyone. There’s no more use of this place now," Saber said softly, as he walked out of the reception building first, being followed by his creations. Peyur rolled his eyes, being the last one out of the building, his hand on the doorknob, closing it behind him.

"Peyur, close the doors behind you," he imitated Saber’s voice in an annoying tone, rolling his eyes and moving his head from side to side.

"He makes me sick," Peyur thought to himself as he morphed, and turned into his other form, following his men away from the bloody crime.

Meanwhile, in the reception building, Faith crawled out of her hiding spot, her dress stained with drops of blood, and tears ruining her mascara…

Fate ; Chapter TWO

Torc fed hungrily from the cat he just slain. He was still with his comrades, this time, staying in an abandoned building apart from the usual sewers. Blood was running along the sides of his mouth as he took another bite, crushing the poor cat’s neck. The cat’s fur was totally ruined, it first being a sandy orange, and now a deadly red. The cat’s blood helped to strengthen his nails and teeth. The bodies of Serenity and Joe were on the dusty floors. Serenity’s head was cocked in a fatal angle, but she couldn’t feel it due to her state of matter. Joe’s body was on top of Serenity’s, and his face was engulfed with blood and bruises.

"Where you get that cat?" Merciless asked him as he watched Torc ripping the cat’s body in two.

"It was walking on the sidewalks when we made it here," he answered him. The animal’s guts were sticking to his cheek.

"Alright, but your appetite should have been fed already," he snickered at him, walking away and towards the stairs, where he sat on them in a dark corner with his eyes glowing and his cap trying to cover his face. Torc rolled his eyes and continued feeding on the corpse of the cat, just leaving its bones, with a puddle of thick blood surrounding his feet.

"Stay here my children, I’m returning to the sewers, letting all of my creations set free, where they will roam these streets, quenching their hunger. Do not leave from here, for if you will, I’ll find you. Merciless, stand guard. You are my best friend. I have complete trust in you. Make sure they don’t escape," Saber directed his attention to Merciless, after announcing to his clan what they were supposed to do.

"I will bring you your wives, close family, relatives, friends. All I ask of you is to stay here. Don’t draw attention to this place," Saber announced again, as he walked towards the exit, his hand on the doorknob.

Merciless nodded his head in Saber’s direction, and watched him close the door behind himself. A grin formed as he turned his attention away from the door and back towards everyone in the room. He licked his hungry, eager, lips and his eyes turned a dangerous, dark blue…

Saber crept the street on all fours, racing towards the alley where the manhole was. He looked over his shoulder before lifting the cover open, and dropping down, metamorphosing into his human state, and walking in the long tunnel, until he found the place where he called home. A female gasp sprang out, and heads turned as Saber came into view.

"Saber! You’re back. My king, how did it go? Were you successful?" Celius asked, as she walked towards him, draping her arm around his neck. She smelt of a strong nauseous scent. Her eyes were brown, just like Sabers.

"Yes, everything worked out perfectly as planned. We even claim two of them now as we speak," Saber answered. He then nuzzled his face into her neck, displaying his affection, but stopped, noticing the unusual scent.

"What’s that on you Celius? You smell different. Has there been anything going on down here while I was away?" he asked, raising his eyebrow and removing her arms from around his neck. Celius eyes opened an extra inch, and her lips came apart, a small gasp escaping from them.

"No Saber, my king. Nothing has happened while you were away. That, I promise," she answered untruthfully. Saber only smirked, before pushing her away from him. He could always sense when someone lied, and he was surprised Celius didn’t understand that already.

"Who were you with Celius?" he asked, now walking around the tunnel, the noise of water splashing around his boots. He scanned the area, looking at the face of women and men, all alike, sharing the same abilities.

"I was with no one!" she bellowed back at him, fear thumping in her black heart. Saber became mad, with his back facing her. His fists balled up, and his eyes became a light brown, but no one could see it changing. He morphed in front of everyone, his fur unruly. His teeth were sharp, and foam dripped from the tips of his two side teeth. His nose was wet and long, some wrinkles appearing as he snarled. He unleashed his claws hidden in his paws. His ears were long, pointed and hairy. He slowly turned around, and Celius stood there in complete horror.

Without warning, Saber dashed towards her, but she too morphed, her eyes glowing green. He stopped running towards her, and stood there frozen, amazed and shocked. That was the first time she actually stood her ground, and he couldn’t believe it.

"My dear Celius. You amaze me with the greatest respect. Come here my wife," he said, his voice now loving. Celius simply shook her head ‘no’, and backed up, as he started walking towards her.

"Don’t be afraid my dear. I do not wish to harm you. You trust me, don’t you?" he asked. Celius shook her head ‘no’ again, and continued walking back, until she found herself against the sewer walls that contained nasty scum buildup. Saber found this opportunity to strike. He ran towards her and she simply yelped in fear. He stood on his hind legs, Celius doing the same, and pressed his werewolf body against hers, his nose touching her own.

"Do you trust me, my Celius? Do you think that I want to hurt you? You’re my only wife. My only love, my own. I made you. You have my scent still upon you," he paused, and then continued, "You remember that day Celius when I claimed you. You’re mine. Don’t underestimate me. I can always destroy you and make another female that will be mine. Do you want me to do that?" he asked her, his growl menacing in every word. She quietly said no. Saber smiled and nuzzled his face on her neck again, this time, showing his dominance. Celius whimpered softly, feeling weak and turning back into her human form.

"How do you feel Celius? Weak, overwhelmed? Am I that sensuous that I make you become weaker and turn back into a human? Is your heart beating at a rapid pace?" he asked, removing his face from her neck, and staring at her. Celius said nothing. Her eyes were closed. Saber removed himself from her, and placed his ear against her chest, indeed hearing her heart beat quickening.

"Such a good girl. Now, come. I have someplace for you to stay, my sweet," he breathed in her ear. She took in a great breath of air, and slowly let it out; her chest rising up and down slowly and rhythmically. He walked away from her, facing all of his creations now. He changed back to his human form and raised his arms in the air, feeling grand, and slowly, brought them down.

"Everyone, this place is not our home. We have to face the humans full force! Let them know of our existence. We cannot simply hide in the shadows any longer. This world is ours, so let’s claim it!" Saber said, his voice thundering in the tunnels. An echo came back towards him. His creations each turned into their werewolf form, and howled to the ceiling, feeling this great change of action taking its deadly course.

"We’re residing in the abandoned building on Jefferson’s and Central. Find that place, scout out whoever you please. Fill your hunger. No more living off of rats, but a more plentiful meal. Have your fun, populate this werewolf race. But do watch your backs for another deadly race lurks in this world," he said. Some people cut their howls short, just thinking about that race. They hated them more than anything. They had a long history together, and it wasn’t pretty.

Faith Thomas walked upon the lonely streets. The moon was full, and the streetlights were on, casting a path on the sidewalks. She held her dress up, making it easier for her to walk. Her heels that she wore were long gone. She couldn’t possibly walk in them any longer. Her dress was dirty on the bottom edges, with dirt clinging to them and hitch-hiking a ride. The blood on her dress created an intoxicating smell, and her make up was completely ruined. She thought about what happened, seeing her husband killed by the human beasts.

Tears flowed from her eyes freely. She couldn’t hold them back. Her satin gloves contained Richard’s blood. She remembered screaming, after seeing the men come into the building, and killing any and everyone they could touch. She was able to flee, but Richard failed. He was caught, and his throat was split open, revealing his lungs. She remembered seeing Joe, screaming at the top of his lungs in complete fear after seeing Jacob dead. She remembered seeing her sister Serenity being knocked unconscious by one of the men.

She remembered her father, his strong hold on her when they walked down the aisle. Now, he was dead, his body lying on a fan hanging down from the ceiling. Faith couldn’t believe that she got away alive. The only survivor. She wanted to help everyone. She really did, but what would make of her if she got from behind the couch, and tried to help everyone? Would she be tossed up in the air like Jacob and her father? Would her throat be slashed with the sharp daggers the men brought with them, like her husband? Would she be knocked unconscious like her sister? All of those questions ran through her troubled mind, as she turned the corner of the street Jefferson’s and Central.

Fate ; Chapter TWO cntd

*|*

Saber was leading his clan to the abandoned building. Celius was right behind him, not saying a word. She was still mesmerized at how he could easily make her get weak and submit to him. As Saber came from around the corner of Jefferson’s and S. Retro, he saw a lady walking on the sidewalk, her white dress splotched with blood. His plain facial expression soon turned into a tiny grin. It was evident to him that she was previously at their last encounter. He was surprised that she survived.

"Everyone, wait here. You too Celius," he told his kind, giving Celius, in particular, a deadly glare. He then put his hands in his pockets, with his head low, and walked towards the girl. Faith stopped crying when she seen him, not knowing who he was. She immediately ran towards him, hoping to see if he had a phone or would help her in her trouble.

"Excuse me. Do you have a phone or anything? Please. There’s been a tragedy at the estate building where my wedding reception occurred. Everyone’s dead. I, I don’t know what to do!" she said all out of breath, her tears starting to form up again. She looked into the anonymous man’s eyes. They were a light brown, and his brown leather coat reached to his knees. His hair was long and fuzzy, going down to his shoulders. His lips were small and thin, and his nose was pointy. He had a scar located under his right eye, a symbol of his authority. Faith’s bottom lip was quivering in the cold, and her shawl that she wore with the dress wasn’t in her possession at that time.

"What happened? Is that...blood on your dress?" he asked, aware of what happened, but prolonging the conversation.

"Y-yes. Please help me. There are men out here. Dangerous men. I don’t know where or who they are," she said, looking around the area, and over her shoulder and the man’s shoulders. She bit her bottom lip, and looked back into the man’s eyes.

"Please help me," she said, her voice sincere. She wrapped her arms around her shoulders, trying to warm herself up. She didn’t know that she was standing in front of the very man that killed her husband. She also didn’t know that she was standing right in front of the abandoned building where the killers resided.

"Don’t worry. Do you have a place to stay miss? Is your home near?" he asked, removing his jacket from his body, and bringing it upon her shoulders, where she put it on without hesitation. She thanked him briefly and looked back in his eyes, then looked away; down at the curb on the street, feeling intimidated.

"No. It’s all the way across town. My car’s back at the estate, but I’m scared to go back there," she said, closing her eyes and having a visual of all of her dead guests and families. She shook her head from side to side, and looked up at the moon. She then closed her eyes and let the tears fall.

"You want to stay with me for a while then?" he asked, trying to throw her attention back to him.

"No, I’m fine. Do you know where the police station is?" she asked, moving her head down and looking back at him, cautiously.

"The nearest police station is four miles from here miss," he said, lying.

"Oh....." her voice trailed off, all hope lost.

"Don’t worry. I’m not a bad person, honest. How about we just stay here for awhile?" he asked, walking towards the door of the abandoned building and smiling.

"Here? Why?" she asked, bringing her dress up more, so she could walk.

"Well, this is where I live," he answered her, smiling even wider, and opening the door only slightly.

"You live here? Why? This place seems kind of..." she stopped, finding the right words, "creepy."

"You’ll get used to it. It’s sort of cozy actually. Come on," he said, nodding his head in the direction of the door. Faith bit her lip and thought to herself.

"What’s your name?" she asked.

"Oh. You can call me Saber."

"Saber?" she questioned.

"A nickname…"

She nodded her head, and decided to walk in with the stranger. Now that’s a good girl, Saber thought to himself, as Faith starting walking towards him, but stopped.

"What was that?!" she asked, immediately turning around with a fear-stricken face.

"I didn’t hear anything," he said, cursing under his breath, knowing exactly where the noise came from. It was Celius, of course, seeing everything that was going on. She had morphed, and made a slight howl, trying to scare Faith away.

"You didn’t hear it? It sounded so close," she said, looking on both sides of the corner and across the street, but not seeing anything.

"Maybe you’re just tired. Come in, get some sleep," he said, opening the door even wider for her, hoping she would give in to his offer.

"I am tired. But what was that? It sounded like a dog or something. Something, bigger," she said, turning back to Saber.

"You’re hearing things. Come on in. Get the rest you deserve. Today seemed as if it was a long and tiresome day for you. Tomorrow, we’ll go to the police station," he said, convincing her.

"You’re right, today has been long. Long and hard. Devastating too," Faith said. She lifted her foot to walk into the building, but stopped, when she saw something out of the corner of her eye. She turned to her right, and saw it.

Celius ran towards Faith full force in the form of a werewolf. Faith’s eyes exploded, and she let out a horrific scream, similar to the one she made during her reception. Celius’ teeth were sharp, and she was letting out a menacing growl, warning Faith to move away from Saber. His jaw dropped, when he saw Celius. She never listened to him causing this last transformation of hers to be her last.

Faith took off running, her dress flailing behind her. She ran down the sidewalk, never looking behind her back, fearing the worst. She could hear the beast’s claws hitting the sidewalk. It sounded as if it was getting closer, and she closed her eyes. Celius chased Faith with a full drive, wanting to tear her apart, limb from limb. Her hunger was increasing in every breath that she took. She couldn’t wait to taste Faith’s flesh. Just thinking of it moistened her long, demonic tongue.

Looking down at what was happening, Zieon watched with fascination, as the girl wearing the wedding dress was being chased by what was clear to him, a werewolf. He followed the chase on the rooftops, his long fighting sword in its handle on the side of his hip. He watched as the girl tried to turn the corner, but her dress got snagged on the wooden bench. She was disabled, and he knew the beast would easily get to her now. She struggled to free herself, but her dress was snagged for good.

Zieon held his breath, waiting until the beast caught up to her. He continued watching as it came towards the girl, and knocked her down. A scream came from her mouth. He looked to his left and saw another person. A man. He was a few blocks behind. Zieon knew exactly what this man possessed. He didn’t like it either.

PostSubject: Chapter Three   Tue Jan 08, 2008 10:10 pm

Fate ; Chapter THREE

Faith shrieked as Celius knocked her down with one swing of her furry arms. Faith was stuck there, and she couldn’t move. Her body was lying on the ground. She was semi-conscious of what was going on around her. Her eyes were halfway closed and on her mouth, there was a small cut. She was bleeding on her shoulders. Celius growled victoriously, and bent down to rip open Faith’s stomach, but was stopped.

"Celius! How dare you! I thought I told you to stay put," Saber said, with ferocity in his voice. He stood behind her on all fours, his teeth baring. Celius turned around, and came face to face with Saber. She looked back at the girl lying on the floor, with her dress ripped, and turned her attention back to him.

"What were you planning on doing with her?!" she asked. She circled the body of Faith, keeping her eyes on Saber

"I was helping her Celius. But you.." Saber said softly, but being cut off by the angered Celius.

"You LIE!" she shouted in a half growl. Faith could hardly make up what was happening, but only heard the voices.

"Celius. Today, is your death day. You’ve failed me. Good-bye," He said as he plunged for her, but she leapt out of the way. She jumped out into the street, and he followed her with a slow crouch.

"You were going to make her yours! Weren’t you? Just like you did me! You weren’t going to kill her, were you? You were just going to seduce her and let her be yours! Well no, I’m not going to let that happen. I’m your only one. Your number one. No one else can fill in my spot. Even if you get rid of me," Celius growled, and then ran towards him. She tried to bite his shoulder blade, but was slow in the process. Saber transformed into his human form, and grabbed her by her neck, lifting her in the air. He was still strong for a human. He cocked his head to the side.

"Celius, you are no match for me. Why are you trying to fight? Do you think you have what it takes to take on someone like me?" he asked her, throwing her on the ground. She changed in mid air, coming to the ground in her feminine state. Pain erupting on her behind, but it wasn’t worse than the pain she knew she would soon feel.

"Kill her! Don’t let her live! Why didn’t you kill her when you had the chance Saber?!" she asked him, using his name, and not saying any form of authority in front of it.

"Do you wish to die, my sweet?" he asked her, bending down on his left knee in front of her. He placed his index finger under her chin, lifting her head closer to his.

"Kill her then Saber! Kill her! I don’t want her to be yours. I want to be your only one. Let her die just like the rest!" she screamed in his face.

"You want to be my only one?" he asked, now lowering his lips to her ear. His lower lip brushed the top of her ear, sending chills throughout her body. She arched her back upwards, her chest on Saber’s and his on hers.

"Y-yes," she breathed out, her eyes slowly closing, falling into his temptation. Saber let his free hand go around her waist, bringing her body even more on his.

"Do you love me?" he asked her, keeping his lips on her ear, and breathing heavily upon it.

"Yes m-master," she said, her eyes fluttering.

"Do you want to die, my sweet?" he asked. Celius shook her head, and said no to him. Her arms went around his neck, and she kissed him on his cheek, neck, and finally on his lips. Saber parted her lips with his tongue, and she allowed his tongue to in her mouth. Her arms rose to his head, rubbing on his mangey hair.

"Celius, are you going to miss me when you’re dead?" he asked her, kissing her lips fully. She jerked in his arms.

"What do you mean?" she asked, releasing from the kiss, her lips wet with his sticky saliva.

"Goodbye my sweet," he said his last words to her, as he kissed her on the lips a final time. He then morphed, and with his huge teeth and mouth, clamped down on her neck. He pried her head away from her body, stretching her skin until it easily ripped apart like paper. She tried to scream but Saber got her again, on the chest, with his claws. He ripped her body apart with his teeth, and thrashed his head about, making her body parts scatter in every direction. He saw her head rolling on the street, and crept up to it. Her eyes were still open with shock, and so was her mouth. Saber scooped her head with his tongue, and put it in his mouth, chomping down on it with a strong force, crushing her skull with his jaws and consuming the dislocated head. With his stomach full, Saber transformed and walked up towards Faith. He ripped her dress, letting her free, and picked her up, cradling her head.

Death wasn’t anywhere in her future, and he made sure of that because he planned on making her one of his own to replace Celius. The woman felt different than other humans; she felt special to him. It could have been the aura she had, or the fact that she was able to survive an attack such as the one Saber’s clan did at her wedding. Whatever it was, Saber liked her. He started walking down the sidewalk, back towards the abandoned building, but stopped. He looked around his surroundings, and grinned. He could sense someone else’s presence. The smell of snake venom was in the air, and he knew the type of people it belonged to.

Without warning, Zieon jumped down the building, falling on the sidewalk, and landing on his feet. His cape was flailing behind him, and he whipped it around. Saber looked across the dark street towards him. Fear thumped loudly in his heart, but he slowed down the beating; he didn’t want him to know he was scared.

"Let the girl go," Zieon said. He clamped the handle of his sword, getting ready to pull it out when he needed too. Faith slowly lifted her head, which was still hurting, and saw a man wearing all black. She couldn’t make out his face, but saw the glint of his eyes.

"Come make me," Saber said, as he continued to walk with her, not looking at him.

"You know you don’t want that to happen, now do you?" Zieon asked, folding his arms over his chest, and watching Saber. Saber snarled and placed Faith down on the sidewalk gently, as he quickly changed and came bounding for Zieon. Faith watched, her vision becoming a bit clearer. She couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw the two guys turn into something completely different.

Saber sprang in the air with his hind legs, giving him air, and came down on Zieon, crushing his back and trying to beat him with his animal-like hands. His fists were balled and he continued to strike Zieon continuously. He just smirked, and disappeared from under him, appearing in the sky, with bat-like wings. He unleashed his sword, and flew down on Saber, but his speed wasn’t good enough, for Saber jumped on top of him, and beat him, punch after punch.. He tried to knock him to the ground, but failed. Zieon threw Saber off of him, and sent his body crashing into the brick wall, where it crumbled.

Saber growled and got back up, then raised his arms in the air, letting out a howl, and making his fingernails longer. Long and sharp like knives.

"Come down you beast!" Saber growled at him ferociously, pacing the floor, agitated at the fact that he couldn’t reach him. His claws clicked on the moonlit street.

After a short moment, Saber thought how he could reach him and smiled when he found it. Running towards the nearest building, he jumped as high as he could, his feet barring on the brick, and he pushed himself upwards, so he could gain some air, and reach him.

He was quite successful, being able to grab Zieon by his ankles, making him fall down. That’s when Saber was able to bite him, on his left wing, causing his red blood to spill out. Zieon winced in pain, but brought his sword up, driving it right into Saber’s neck, one of his weak spots. He let out a high groan, and fell to the ground, thrashing in all directions, clasping his now human hand on the sword. He was too weak to continue the battle. Saber ran away in fear, leaving Faith’s body to be dealt with by the vampire.

Zieon watched as Saber ran on his two feet, his wound healing slowly. He slid his bloody sword back in its handle and turned his attention towards the girl in the wedding dress. He changed into a human, his arm hurting after the bite to his wing, but it healed some. He rubbed on his shoulder then walked towards her. He saw the blood on her dress, which brought him in this direction in the first place. The lustful, yet delicate scent of blood. He licked his lips in thirst, and picked her up.

"Let me go! Help! Please, someone! Please, don’t hurt me! Please," she said half hollering, her voice a bit weak. Tears started emitting from her eyes.

"Don’t be afraid," he said to her letting out his huge wings, and flying out into the midnight sky.

Fate ; Chapter FOUR

Faith woke up the next morning, not knowing where she was. She yawned, and got up, seeing that she was lying on a bunch of covers, pillows, and sheets bunched together. Her bed. She got up slowly, and noted the six windows in the room. Wondering where she was, Faith climbed out of bed, and stood on her feet, only feeling the air brush against her naked skin. She let out a deep breath, and grabbed the sheets in her fist, pulling on them. Wrapping them around her body like a dress, she walked about the room, coming face to face with a chalkboard.

Is this a school? She thought to herself. Faith lifted her arm up, and let her fingertips run gently along the chalkboard. She looked around the room, and saw no desks or chairs, just an empty room containing her makeshift bed. There were no computers in the room, or books. Walking away from the chalkboard, Faith walked towards the only door, gripping her hand on the doorknob, fear coming towards her wondering who or what was on the other side.

"How are you feeling?" she heard a voice say coming from behind her. It didn’t sound far away, but it was indeed inside the room. She couldn’t get a chance to even open the door.

"Who’s there?" she said aloud, fully turning around, and looking everywhere she could, but not seeing anyone. Fear was plastered over here face, and she clenched the sheets she was holding tightly towards her.

"How is your shoulder?" she heard the voice say again. She shrieked as she felt a breeze of air brush through her hair. She looked in the direction the voice came from, but still, saw no one.

"Who are you? Where are you? What are you?" she asked, fear escaping her voice. She ran towards her makeshift bed, accidentally tripping over the long sheets that were wrapped around her. She fell face first on the pillows and covers, but quickly regained her posture.

"That doesn’t matter right now," the voice said. Faith constantly kept looking over her shoulder, feeling paranoid.

"How do you know that beast? Do you belong to him? Are you one of his wives? You don’t have his scent upon you, so you’re still purified, but I fear that will soon change," the voice said. The person who claimed that voice finally appeared leaning against the chalkboard, his foot supporting his weight. Faith gasped loudly and her eyes bulged out of their sockets. She scooted further away from him.

"I-it’s you…" she said, trying to sit up, but the weight of the covers was making her sink down.

"Ah, yes it is. Are you feeling well?" Zieon asked her, pushing himself from off the chalkboard with his foot and walking over towards the window where the light shone brightly.

"What am I doing here? What are you?" she asked him, watching him walk towards the window; the sound of his boots hitting the floor making her heart jump even more wildly.

"You are here for your own protection. And I am what you humans prefer to call a vampire," he said, not looking at her, but out the window. Her heart jumped at the mention of the word.

"A vampire? They exist? I thought that was all… but I thought..." she was interrupted.

"Yes, we do exist. You thought what? That we are all just old myths? That we go around, killing whoever and whomever we can, sucking their blood? That’s not true. And just for the record, we, vampires do like the light. What you believe and hear is all foolish nonsense. You humans like to create silly stories about our race, not knowing anything real. I think it’s what fascinates you," Zeion said, now bringing his eye contact towards hers. She shuddered and sank down in the sheets.

"I bet your mind is racing at this very moment; wondering what happened the previous night." He read her mind, and a glint flashed in his hazel eyes. She widened her eyes, in disbelief, then rubbed her forehead with her bruised arm and winced in pain forgetting that her arm wasn’t quite stable.

"Lay down human, let your pain subside. I’ll tell you about this news later. Your food will be brought to you sooner in the day," Zieon said.

"No. What happened to me?" she said, with an edge in her voice. He smiled and shook his head from side to side. He then walked over towards her and right when he was only inches from her sitting position, he vanished. Faith held her breath, looking around herself, trying to find him.

She lifted her arm, and let it come out in front of her. She didn’t feel anything. She then turned around, and looked back by the window, but soon realizing it was quite foolish for her to do that, not being able to see anyone. Where did he go, she thought, maybe he has some disappearing power or just invisibility. She closed her eyes for a brief second, breathing in and out, trying to calm her nerves. But doing this only brought back memories of bloodshed and horror.

Regaining her strength, Faith got up, and rushed towards the door, swinging it open, and running out into the hallway. She saw other people, and they stared at her, but they didn’t seem unfriendly. Looking to her left and right, she ran towards the stairs that led downwards. Her hands clenched onto the handrails, fearing she would accidentally loose her footing and fall. Luckily, she didn’t and she was able to make it towards the exit safely, with the sheets trailing behind her.

The door opened, and cool air rushed into the building, completely enveloping her whole body. She walked down the steps of the elementary school and looked around her environment. It was quiet outside, only a few birds flying in the sky. The place seemed as if it were a ghost town. No people were around, at all. Cars weren’t driving past and people weren’t walking along the sidewalks. Faith was in a destroyed town. A place she did not know of. Faith needed help, but she was sure the only help she would get would be from the people inside the school.

Faith brought back her hair that swept in front of her face. She walked to the nearest home, walking up the steps, and ringing the bell, hoping someone would come to the door and open it. But no one ever did. Sighing, she tried the doorknob, opening the door, which was unlocked. She walked inside, and the first thing she noticed was the blood-soaked carpet. She shrieked and ran out of that house, running until she became tired and her legs wouldn’t let her move another inch.

"Why me, why me, why me?!" she asked herself, dropping on her hands and knees. She was exhausted, and turned her head around, still seeing the school in view. She crawled towards the curb, and sat on it, the sheets loosening themselves from around her body, and exposing her plump, left breast.

"Are you finally finished running away from your problems, or do you need extra time?" she heard the same guy ask. She turned around, and sure enough, there he was, standing behind her. She gasped facing him. Her eyes grew wider and he smirked.

"You do not need to fear me. I don’t want to hurt you." He announced.

"Leave me alone!" she screamed at him, surprising herself. She lifted the sheet up to cover herself. Zieon smirked and walked towards Faith, sitting on the curb alongside her.

"What is your name?" he asked, looking in her eyes, with want, interest, curiosity, and a confused longing.

"My name has nothing to do with you. Please, just leave me alone," she told him, trying to stand up, but not having enough strength to do so.

"You are weak and your shoulder is still in pain, but yet, you still continue to fight with yourself. Why human?" he asked, moving his hand towards her. He moved her long hair out of her face and she moved back, feeling his cold touch.

"All I ask of you is to leave me alone, and you can’t do even that," she told him, feeling able to have her way with words, rather than actions.

"You still haven’t told me your name." Faith looked at him, wondering if she should tell this stranger, no, vampire, her name. She closed her eyes and looked away from him, glancing down.

"It’s Faith, Faith Thomas. But my last name doesn’t matter anymore. My husband is dead as well as my family. I have no place in life anymore. I should have died with the rest of them," her voice came out sadly as the tears began to come out.

"Well Faith, my name is Zieon, son of Phlycus and prince of vampires." He said, taking his hand out so that she could shake it, like he witnessed two humans do before. She merely looked at it.

"Tell me, my dear, what’s on your mind?" he asked, his voice low and soft, making her feel welcome to tell him.

"I don’t…who are you? Where did you come from? I can’t believe this. I’m just dreaming…that’s all. This is just a dream. Any second now, I’ll wake up and be in my bed, with Richard sleeping right next to me, and I’ll laugh at this." Faith tried convincing herself, with a confused smile on her face. She stood up.

"What is this dream you talk about? Who is this Richard?" He curiously asked her.

Fate ; Chapter FOUR cntd

"That’s it. This isn’t real. It feels real, but it isn’t!" Her voice became louder as she tried persuading herself. Zieon continued looking at her, wondering what she was talking about.

"Now that I know this is just a dream, nothing matters to me. Just…any second now…"

"Faith, I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this is reality. I know you grew up, like every other human, believing no other race existed, but that isn’t true. My race exists, and there are even more and more races out there. Like…" he stammered. Faith turned her attention to him, her excitement crashing down.

"W-what?"

"What you experienced the previous night. You probably have just bits and pieces of it in your head, yes?" he stopped and gazed at her, through her eyes. Her heart skipped a beat.

"You...when I saw you last night, you were being attacked and chased by these..." he trailed off and looked towards the ground, then back at her again. "I know this might sound foolish, but you were being chased and attacked by werewolves." Without warning, she started giggling.

"Werewolves?! Werewolves? You expect me to believe that I was being attacked by some stupid little werewolves?" she asked, a silly grin on her face. She shook her head from side to side.

"Yep…another weird dream alright," she told herself.

"Would you stop saying that this is a dream?!" he yelled, getting up and walking in front of her. The intensity in his voice scared and shocked her and she felt and smelled his breath. She scrunched her nose then tried to take a step backwards, cowering, but he gripped her by her arm.

"Faith, I’m sorry. I just…" his eyes darted, not looking at her.

"Tell me, what do you want?" he said calmly, expecting an answer. He let go of her arm, and saw her eyes fill themselves with sadness.

"I just want to get home and away from this place. Everything seems so unreal. I need to tell the cops; let them know what happened."

"I’m sorry to say, but by the time we get to the cops, they all shall be dead. Those werewolves kill swiftly. I ordered my race to get rid of the corpses they left behind. Werewolves spread like a disease, attacking everyone they come in contact with and contaminating them. This whole country will be infected in a matter of months, but years if we choose to fight them," Zieon informed her. Faith sighed.

"Then kill me. Living a life of fear is not living at all."

"There is no need for you to live that way Faith. You do not have to fear me, or those werewolves. We vampires are very skilled in the ways of contending. We don’t choose to fight, but when it comes to humans, we value their lives. Like I value yours. Stay here with us, be treated as a guest. Live your life, a life with no fear," he told her, taking her by the chin, so that she could look him in the eyes. Faith looked at him, then feeling overpowered, looked down at his lips.

"What do you say Faith?" he asked. She shook her head ‘no’. She wanted to stay protected, she honestly did. But how could she live her life knowing that other’s lives were being taken away in every breath that she took?

"Is it possible for you to take me home?" Her eyes were now dry of tears, not having enough liquids in her body.

"Everything’s possible for vampires. I can take you home, but I will not. It’s not safe there. Right now, as we speak, someone’s life is being taken away. Werewolves have no heart," Zieon told her, rubbing her chin with his thumb. Faith breathed in hard, pushing herself away from him. She made extra sure that the covers gripped onto her body, not wanting a male who wasn’t her husband to see her exposed.

"If you won’t take me home, I’ll take myself," she announced, not really saying it to him, but to herself. She started to walk in the middle of the street, not really knowing where she was going, but just away from there.

"You will get killed if you go there! It’s not safe! Stay here with me, with us!" he shouted at her, hoping to get Faith to change her mind. But, she didn’t stop walking or look back towards him. Faith kept walking, trying to gain some strength in her heart that everything would be ok. Or at least this was a very bad nightmare, and she would wake up, hearing her alarm clock go off. Hoping she could see Richard’s face one last time. Hug her sister Serenity. Tell her mother and father that she loved them. But she couldn’t. Everything was going terribly wrong with her life.

Faith turned the corner and looked on the next block. The houses were all lined up neatly in a row. This made the block appear longer, and made her sigh. This was even harder than she thought. There was no way she would be able to get home, the only place where she felt safe and protected. She didn’t even know which way to go. Was she headed in the right direction?

‘Faith, relax, and close your eyes’, she heard Zieon whisper in her ear. Closing her eyes, she gave in to him, not only feeling tired, but saddened as well. She could feel the heat from his breath as it brushed along her bare neck. She felt arms wrap around her waist, climbing up towards the knot that tied the sheets together just above the mounds of her breasts. She let out a deep sigh, feeling complete, when the invisible hands untied the knot and let the sheets fall freely down her sides. There she was, standing completely bare of clothing in the middle of the street. The wind that blew past hardened her nipples, and she felt Zieon’s hands fall back down to her waist.

She knew he was standing behind her, she could still feel the heat of his breath on her neck and ear and the heat from his body on her backside. She moved her head to the side, feeling his lips kiss her neck.

Zieon felt the fresh blood flowing in her veins each time his lips grazed her skin. He could smell her blood, and just thinking of how it would taste drove him mad. He closed his eyes, feeling his manhood pulsing. He would do anything to entice her. He now felt as if that was his goal in life. Moving from one neck to the other, Zieon continued to kiss her; his lips soft and sweet. He felt his vampire side start to emerge from within him. He had the sudden urge to nip at her neck and draw just a little blood. He wanted to use his fangs and puncture her skin until he saw some blood trickle; he just wanted a taste. Faith felt herself becoming wet in the crevice between her legs. She couldn’t let another man get to her; especially one who had supernatural powers and was a vampire at that. But, she felt as if she were in a trance. She couldn’t get out of it; she was pulled in too deep.

Zieon’s lips on hers were like a sanctuary that welcomed Faith and no one else. She didn’t want him to stop but she knew what she was doing was wrong. She just got married yesterday, and here she is letting another man pleasure her. But Richard is dead. Why should it matter? She was still wearing her wedding ring. Faith forced her eyes open so she could look at her hands. The ring glinted in the sunlight. She smiled briefly, remembering her Richard, and wiggled herself from out of his arms.

"You don’t know what I want to do to you," Zieon breathed on her lips, grabbing her arm and forcing her naked body onto his. Faith felt his breathing increase, knowing there was only one thing on his mind. She didn’t want him to see her naked, but it was already too late. He’d seen enough of her body already. She had a feeling that he was already in the classroom with her when she woke up, realizing she was sleeping naked. He was probably the one who undressed her.

"I-I need to go," Faith said softly, her eyes almost closing themselves.

"Don’t," he said. Forcing her eyes to stay open, she pushed herself out of his arms. Faith bent down and picked up the sheets, trying desperately to keep them in place, to cover herself.

"Why are you hiding your self Faith? Don’t cover yourself with those sheets. Show to the world your beauty," Zieon told her as he watched her trying hard to keep those covers on, but failing.

"Don’t talk to me that way!"

"What way am I talking to you? Do you think I’m offending you?" Zieon asked her. He advanced in her direction.

"Only my husband can talk to me that way!" she screamed at him, her eyes deadly.

"Your husband…Richard’s his name I suppose?" he asked, then paused. "Faith, your husband is gone. He was killed and you know it. I’m sorry for bringing up this news, but you need to stop referring to him. He’s gone and he’s not coming back," he clamped his hands on the sides of her face.

"Leave me alone!" she shouted. Her eyes rolled upwards, and her body became weak. She crumpled in his hold, falling towards the ground. Zieon sighed, then picked her up in his arms, and carried her all the way towards the school. He opened the doors, and climbed up the steps. Fang, one of his kind, walked towards him, seeing Faith in his arms.

"Is this the girl?" he asked him, looking at her from head to toe.

"Indeed it is," Zieon replied.

"She’s beautiful," Fang whispered under his breath as he watched Zieon walk past him and into one of the rooms that was assigned to her.

"Go to sleep, my dear. You need to rest. You’ve already suffered a lot. If you need my comfort, I’ll be in room A210," Zieon informed Faith’s semiconscious body as he set her down and pulled the covers over her, brushing his arm accidentally on her right breast. Vanishing from in front of her, Zieon appeared on the other side of her door. He stood in the hallway, thinking for a minute, before walking towards his room.

PostSubject: Chapter FIVE   Sat Jan 12, 2008 2:23 pm

Fate ; Chapter FIVE

Saber decided to take a morning stroll. The area he was walking in was totally bare of humans, he made sure of that. His creations had a late night feast, going into the homes and killing everyone they could reach. As Saber turned the corner, his mind flipped over to the girl he met last night. She was all he could think about. With his hands in his coat pocket, he walked down the block. There was something definitely about Faith that he wanted to know about. Something about her that interested him.

"Master!" the voice of a young woman screamed behind him. Saber turned around, not really in the mood to see anybody, and saw Faith’s sister running up to him.

"What is it, my dear Serenity?" he asked, grabbing on to the back of her head with care and affection. She stood face to face with him, and looked down at her feet, not having the strength to look at him in the eyes.

"What bothers my master so? You’re out and about. Do you wish to not spend time with your latest creations?" she asked him, a bit of sorrow present.

"No Serenity, I will spend time with you and Joe. Just now, I need to spend time with myself. You two, are of the greatest importance to me now. I need you guys. Don’t worry," Saber said, grabbing her by the chin, lifting her head up. Serenity smiled.

"Now, I want you to go out and feed. Kill any human you see. Feed until your belly is full, tell Joe the same. New werewolves always need to quench their hunger. Now, go," Saber said, moving his hand from under her chin and walking away, thinking. Serenity morphed and ran back towards the abandoned building, where she told Joe of Saber’s command

"Let’s go my brother. I can smell the flesh in the air, we must eat, eat, eat!" Serenity exclaimed, rolling her long, slippery tongue against the top rows of her sharp teeth. Joe was still lying on the floor in a ball. Serenity nudged him with her wet nose, and he swapped his paw in the air, trying to move her away from him.

"Wake up Joe! I know you’re hungry. The time’s wasting, humans are still alive, we must do as our master has told us," Serenity informed him, trying to accomplish something, but failing. She growled in his ear, annoyed that he wasn’t budging, and went out on her way.

Her knuckles scrapped against the cold, wooden doors of room A210. She kept one of her hands on the sheets, to keep them from falling down her body. Waiting for Zieon to come out of the room, she turned around, seeing a handful of people looking her way. She wasn’t sure if she should smile, wave, or say anything, so she just turned around, and her eyes got locked on Zieon’s.

"You need to seek my comfort?" he asked her, his scent frolicking around Faith’s nose. She shook her head ‘no’, waiting until he closed the door behind himself, walking out the room. She rolled on the heels of her feet, as she was following his movements. Some strands of her hair were sticking to her forehead and the sides of her face. Faith’s hair was mingled, and her breathing was fast. It was obvious that she suffered from a bad dream, a nightmare happening in the day.

"What happened?" he asked her with his eyes traveling over her body, checking to see if there were scars, cuts, or bruises, but not seeing any, other than the ones she previously had.

"I-I had a bad dream," Faith told him, her breath emitting from her lips and onto his in strong winds.

"I do not understand," he brushed her hair back with his hand then placed his open palm on the side of her face.

"I need to get back to the estate." Faith pushed his hand away from her, her voice not being able to get loud like she intended it to.

"But why? There’s no one there for you, Faith. It is not safe. Those werewolves…"

"But my sister’s still alive!" Faith yelled, playing back bits of her dream back in her head. She closed her eyes. From her dream, she remembered seeing her little sister, with her clothes torn, wearing only rags. Her face was dirty, and mud was streaked on the right side of her face. There were clumps of dirt in her hair, and she had a long cut on her leg. She constantly looked over her shoulder, and had a scared look on her face. She had one heel on, and the other off, trudging on the sidewalk. Zieon seemed taken aback by her comment, opening his eyes wider than they usually were.

"What do you mean she’s alive? Faith...she’s de..." she wouldn’t let him continue, she couldn’t let him. She couldn’t bear hearing that word again.

"Listen to me! My sister isn’t dead! Don’t you ever say that in front of me Zieon! I don’t care what or who you are! I’m going to prove to you she’s alive!" she screamed in front of his face, shooting her arm out, pointing directly at him. People turned and looked at the two.

"Calm down," he grabbed on her arm, bringing it down.

"Let me go!" she yelled, trying to free herself from his grasp. He brought his arms around her waist, pressing her on him. Faith tried to move herself out of his arms, but he was just too strong for her. She closed her eyes then laid her head on his shoulder, feeling exhausted. She tried to cry, but she just couldn’t any more. Crying didn’t bring anything her way. She knew that. She had to find that out the hard way.

"I cannot let you go back to the estate. It isn’t safe. Those werewolves are still out there going on new and different streets, spreading themselves around. I do not want you to get hurt," Zieon said softly, tightening his hold on her.

"But what about my sister? I know she’s out there. You just want her to die? I thought you said you value our lives. If you really did, you would let me go out there and find her," Faith told him, removing his arms from around her and backing away.

"Faith, it is not safe. Why do you not understand what I’m trying to say? Are you trying to die?" he asked.

"Please," she said softly. Her facial expression was low and depressed. She felt her eyes stinging, but no tears escaped from them.

"I’m sorry," Zieon told her sadly, bringing his head down. He wanted to help her, but he didn’t want to bring her back to the estate, where all the trouble began. Feeling defeated, Faith walked away from him, going back down the hallway to where she stayed. Zieon watched her as she walked away, feeling ashamed that he couldn’t help her.

Faith returned to her room, slumping down on the sheets. Her heart was broken. She had a gut feeling that her sister was still alive, but it seemed as if Zieon didn’t believe her. Resting her back on the sheets, Faith closed her eyes. She couldn’t believe all of the things that were happening to her. She didn’t realize that someone was watching her, sitting against the wall near the door. She didn’t hear his footsteps as he approached her and covered her mouth with his hand.

Her eyes shot open and fear overcame her body as she jerked upwards. Her breathing started to increase.

"If I remove my hands from your virgin lips, will you promise me you won’t scream?" the voice had asked her. Struggling to remove the hands from her mouth, she shook her head, letting the person know that she promised. She couldn’t see anyone, until he took his hands off her and revealed himself.

"W-who are you?" she asked him, seeing his long, jet black, straight hair and his light brown eyes. Her eyes scanned his body with her lips apart.

"I am a friend of Zieon’s. My name is Fang. I-I overheard your conversation with him; about your sister. If you want, I could help you. I mean, I wouldn’t mind. If you want to go to the place where you think your sister is...I could help." He sounded nervous, and struggled with his words. Faith’s eyes lit up, and a smile appeared on her face.

"Thank you. But, why are you helping me?" she asked, looking at this mysterious man, who she didn’t know would cause her much pain.

"I just find it necessary," he said, dismissing the question. "Look, we should leave tomorrow morning, around three. If we leave now, it’s going to be impossible getting past Zieon and everyone else. At that time, most of the werewolves are sleeping, vampires too. Even though our hearing is good, the werewolves are more acute. We must be quiet while we’re there. Understand?" he asked. Faith shook her head ‘yes’ and looked over his shoulder, hearing someone approaching. Fang heard it too. Turning his neck around quickly, he vanished before the person could even open the door. When they did, Faith was standing there alone, with her eyes looking as if she were a deer in headlights.

"Why, I take it you’re the young lady he was talking about. Here are some clothes for you. You can change into these while you’re staying here. What is your name?" the female asked her, as she walked into the room and set the clothes on her ‘bed’. Faith followed her with her eyes and told her her name.

"Wait, where’s my wedding dress? I...when I came here, I didn’t have it anymore and my name is Faith. Faith Thomas..." her face went blank for a second.

"Wedding dress? Aww, you’re married? How sweet is that? When were you wed?" she asked Faith, sitting down on her knees at her feet to help her put on some pants. Faith was a bit hesitant letting the woman dress her, feeling a bit embarrassed. The woman simply smiled.

"Um, it was yesterday. W-who are you?" she asked.

"Sorry dear. My name’s Marian. Do you need anything? Like, food? I’m sure you’re hungry. I’ll be right back dear," then she simply vanished from Faith’s feet. Her vanishing caused her to jump back a bit. The clothes were still in Faith’s room and she put them on herself. The clothes were usual, casual clothes. Some she would wear if she ever wanted to go to the mall or any other public place. After she finished putting the top on, she heard a slight creaking of floorboards, and saw the woman again. She had a tray in her hands. There was an empty glass bowl, a spoon, a small carton of milk, and a miniature box of cereal on the tray. Faith watched as Marian walked towards her.

"Sit down Faith and have a bite to eat. I know that you’re really hungry. If you need me, I’ll always be of assistance. As of now, I am your property. Do what you want with me," Marian said bowing her head and walking backwards towards the door where she vanished. Faith blinked her eyes tight, not believing anything that was happening to her.

"Did she just say she was my property?" Faith accidentally asked herself aloud, but in a soft voice. She shook her head from side to side, and started eating the food Marian gave her. She was really hungry. She ate every crumb and drank every drop, then left the tray on the floor. Looking out the window, she saw the sky starting to get darker. Getting up, she walked over to the window, and placed her fingertips against the glass. She looked down at the grass and noticed how dark it was. It looked so pretty that same morning, but now, it wasn’t. It was just dark; an ocean of darkness surrounding the whole building. She sighed and walked back to her bed, then sat down on it.

She thought about Fang, what he had mentioned earlier. She knew Zieon would be mad at her, but when did she start caring for what he felt? Even if he didn’t want her to get hurt, she knew she had to do this. She wanted to see if her sister was out there. She had a gut feeling she was.

Fate ; Chapter FIVE cntd

*|*

Keeping absolutely quiet, Fang walked out of his room, checking to see if the coast was clear first. He closed the door behind him, clenching his teeth when he heard the door creak. Such a loud, but quiet noise. He walked down the hallway quietly, trying to make no noise as he passed Zieon’s room. He could sense everyone’s body heat as he passed each room to get to Faith’s. He tiptoed towards her door, and decided against knocking on it, because that small sound could wake someone up, which he didn’t want to do. He appeared in Faith’s room standing a couple feet away from the door. He saw that she was sleep.

"Faith, wake up. We must hurry and keep quiet," Fang nudged her slightly, trying to wake her up. She blinked her eyes a couple times, and then rubbed her hands over her eyes.

"Come on. Everyone’s asleep. We need to go now," he whispered. After Faith had fully awoken, Fang opened the door, looking to his left and his right. He didn’t see anyone so he grabbed Faith by her hand, and led her through the hallway.

"Get on my back," Fang told her as they successfully made it out the building. Faith raised her eyebrow and opened her lips slightly.

"I’ll fly you there. Get on," Fang said again as he squatted down for her.

"Wait, what? Get on?" she blinked her eyes several times and raised her eyebrows.

"Yes. Do you or do you not want to find your sister?" he asked, still squatting.

"I do, but…I’m scared of heights. What if…what if you drop me? How am I supposed to…?" she asked him question after question.

"Why are you really helping me find my sister?" she asked him.

"The truth is, I believe you. I do believe she’s out there, somewhere. Maybe, with the two of us, we can find her. So, get on before it’s too late."

She nodded her head and placed one arm on his shoulder, then hoisted her body on top of his back. Standing up, Fang transformed himself into vampire that he was, and soared into the air, flying towards the estate.

"There it is!" Faith gasped, her finger pointing at the white building on the ground. Fang turned his head slightly, looking at the pretty building with the flowers surrounding every corner and crevice. Some of them were uprooted and pulled by their stem. There were two small trees planted on each side of the entrance to the steps. Outstretching his wings, he lowered himself, losing altitude; his wings acting as parachutes to trap the air, slowing down his landing. When Faith’s feet touched the ground, she ran to the door of the estate, but stopped.

Her breath caught in her throat. She looked at the door of the estate, and closed her eyes, shaking her head from side to side. Turning around, she opened her eyes.

"I can’t go in there," she stated. Fang seemed confused as he transformed back to his humanly figure.

"What do you mean? We came here to look for your sister, but you don’t want to go inside?" he asked, approaching her.

"No, I. I...I can’t. This place brings back too many memories. Maybe this was a bad idea. I all of a sudden don’t want to be here. But, my sister’s probably alive," she sighed, "I’m sorry for dragging you along with this," Faith said, sincerely. She wrapped her body with her arms, the draft sending shivers up and down her arms; goose bumps apparent.

"No one’s in there. All of the bodies have been…" he stopped, mid-sentence, realizing what he was going to say that would sadden her even more.

"Why don’t we just search the area? If you really believe she’s alive, then I believe you. Let’s go, come on," he held out his hand for her to hold, but she didn’t look at it.

"But, what about those...things?"

"They’re sleeping. This may be the only chance we’ll have. If you really want to find your sister, take my hand. I can help you. You’re safe with me. Please," Fang said, holding his hand out even more for her to take it. Faith bit her lip, looked at his hand for a couple of seconds, and placed hers in his slowly.

"If we fly, it’ll be easy to cover more ground. Come on," he kneeled again, gesturing for her to climb on top of his back, which she did. Fang took one giant jump in his human state, transformed in mid-air, and sent Faith into the sky.

"How long do you think they’ll be sleeping?" she whispered. His hair brushed against her cheeks.

"For a few more hours, but we still must hurry. Some werewolves have a tendency to wake up and go out looking for a feast."

"A feast? What?" Faith shook her head, not understanding what he meant.

"I shouldn’t have mentioned that. Forget it." He shook his head from side to side, as if punishing himself. Looking to her left and right, Faith looked down at the streets, searching for any person walking, but seeing none.

"In your dream, where did you see her Faith?" Fang asked, turning his head to the right to look at her out of his right eye. She looked at him.

"I don’t know. She was just close to the building where we just left. Where ever she is, she’s probably hiding, scared, all alone." A tear slid down her face, and fell on Fang, who shuddered, feeling it touch him.

"What are you doing?" he asked, watching her. She shook her head, and looked the other way, not wanting him to see her.

"Nothing." She told him, simply and briefly. "Can we get down? I don’t feel so well."
